Institutional Rules and Regulations
1. The ECC holds the rights of admission
2. The ECC does not discriminate because of sex, colors, religion or nationality.
3. Every check returned for insufficient funds will have a charge of twenty ($20.00) dollars.
4. Any student enrolled in one of the courses who does not finish the course, must pay any balance pending payment.
5. Students who do not make payments on due dates as well as students who abandon the course with a balance pending will be referred to our credit and collection agency. (Transworld Systems).
6. Any additional expenses made by ECC in the collection of unpaid balances will be charged to the student.
7. The ECC is not responsible for items left in the classrooms or our facilities.
8. Children and outsiders are not allowed in the classroom. They must wait in the receiving room.
9. Smoking is forbidden.
10. Lectures cannot be recorded.
11. Eating or drinking is not allowed in the classrooms.
12. Consumption of alcoholic beverages and/or drugs are not permitted.
Students Regulations Manual
A. Rights and responsibilities
1. Students have the right to engage in academic activities and must comply with the moral and intellectual responsibilities required by the nature of such activities.
2. The Regulation Manual is intended to be a guide in the attainment of the academic discipline and behavioral practices inherent to the school community and their own discretion and good judgment.
3. Students may participate in meetings and ceremonies in harmony with the norms established by the ECC.
4. The ECC will not deprive any student of the services the institution offers because of sex, color, origin, social status, political or religious belief or physical disability.
5. Every student has the right to examine any information contained in his / her academic record in the presence of a school official. This does not indicate that it is an authorization to change or obtain information from the record. The student has the right to maintain confidential the information in his/her record especially the information dealing with political affiliation, religious belief or philosophic belief. The ECC grants that right
6. Every student has the rights to meet with his/her professors or administrator in order to receive information and counseling in matters relating to his/her academic performance.
7. Students have the right and responsibility to participate actively in the lessons and activities related to them, to consult the teachers, to express their doubts and their difference of opinions and to know their academic weaknesses.
8. Students are entitled to receiving the schedule & testing activities of the course at the beginning of each course either orally or in written.
9. As part of the teaching learning process, the students have the right to receive information from their professors and inquire about tests results and grades.
10. It is the student’s responsibility to make –up time for missed lessons.
11. Any claim must be requested in writing.
B. Disciplinary Norms and Procedures
The followings actions are considered a violation to the vital norms of order and the students’ wholesome academic life. The ECC will apply disciplinary actions to such violators.
Violations to the Students’ Regulation Manual or any other regulation adopted and properly published by school authorities.
1. Lack of honesty regarding academic performance.
2. Alteration or falsification of grades, records, ID cards, or other official documents.
3. Disorderly conduct inside or outside ECC when acting in the name of the institution or representation of the students’ body or activities sponsored by ECC.
4. Interrupt, interfere or disturb ECC’s regular operations, activities or celebrations properly authorized. This rule is duly applicable when the actions provoking the interruptions, interference or disturbance occur outside our facilities.
5. Publish or disclose discrediting, defamatory, libelous or obscene material.
6. Assume the representation of ECC without authorization.
7. Cause damage to ECC property.
8. Any action that disturbs the normal functioning of the institution.
9. Consumption of alcoholic beverages, intoxicating matter or any illegal substance.
10. Smoking is forbidden in the classrooms, halls, and laboratories.
11. Wear inappropriate clothes: Shorts, sleeveless shirts (men) or other clothing considered by ECC authorities to be improper or immoral.
12. Failure to attend classes on a regular basis as established by ECC standards. (Must make-up hours required by the course).
13. Use of vulgar or immoral language in the ECC facilities.
Any violation to the previously state norms may prompt ECC administrators to recommending some of the following disciplinary measures:
1. Warning – the ECC will hold a meeting with the student and keep evidence signed by the student and members of the disciplinary committee. The report will become part of the student’s academic record.
2. Probation for a definite term during which, if the student incurs in a second violation, could lead to expulsions.
3. Rectify by recovering or refunding for damages to property or theft of property belonging to ECC. The restoration may be done through sanctions or compensation.
4. Restriction of the use the school ground and facilities.
5. Temporary suspension of the privilege to participate in activities including classes.
6. Suspension for five (5) days with the right to obtain evaluations.
7. Separation, final expulsion from ECC depending on the offense engaged in.
